How we choose and care for our flowers:
At Ecker's Flowers, we are committed to giving you the freshest flowers available. We purchase from quality suppliers and use techniques for cut flower care and handling developed by Floralife Inc., the industry leader in post-harvest care and handling of products.
We source out the very best varieties of flowers. Think of it this way: When you buy a car, you don't go out and buy a red car, you buy a Ford, Toyota etc. Flowers, like cars, can vary greatly in their quality and longevity. There are hundreds of different varieties of flowers available, each with different characteristics. At Ecker's, we are constantly working with our suppliers to bring you the best varieties of flowers that will ensure a long lasting beautiful arrangement.
Once they arrive at Ecker's, our flowers are processed and climate-controlled to keep them as fresh as possible. Flowers are very temperature sensitive. A flower kept at 41 degrees will degrade twice as fast as one at 37 degrees. Our state of the art flower coolers ensure that flowers are kept cold until you receive them.
Finally, your arrangement is placed in a pre-mixed Floralife fresh flower solution and is ready for delivery or pick-up.
Here's where you can get involved:
Flower foods add greatly to the life of your arrangement but, used improperly, can reduce flower life. A 5 gram flower food packet is provided with your fresh flower purchase. Mix each flower food packet with a pint of water and add to your arrangement when the solution gets low. Using flower food correctly can help add to the life of your arrangement. |
